Dr. Volkan Dayan is an accomplished academic with extensive expertise in banking, finance, and sustainable financial practices. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Trakya University, Uzunkopru School of Applied Sciences, Turkey, Dr. Dayan specializes in corporate finance, Basel regulations, credit risk management, cryptocurrencies, and behavioral finance. His academic pursuits also extend to entrepreneurship and information technologies, with a strong focus on sustainable and pandemic-related financial challenges.
Dr. Dayan earned his Bachelor's degree from Uludag University, a Master’s degree from Celal Bayar University with a thesis on Basel II standards, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the same institution, focusing on credit risk management in the Turkish banking sector. Furthering his research, he completed post-doctoral studies at the European Scientific Institute, analyzing the financial impacts of COVID-19 in tourism-dependent economies.
Throughout his career, Dr. Dayan has held various academic and administrative roles, including director and vice-director positions, department head, and member of several editorial boards. He has contributed significantly to international conferences and academic publications, with research encompassing topics such as fintech, financial sustainability, and the implications of emerging technologies like blockchain.
An active participant in collaborative research and teaching, Dr. Dayan has worked with institutions worldwide, including ERASMUS teaching mobility programs in Spain and various editorial and reviewing responsibilities for esteemed journals.
