A 37-year-old man with metastatic meningeal hemangiopericytoma was hospitalized because of the acute onset of right femur pain caused by a pathologic fracture. Bone scintigraphy showed increased tracer uptake on the subtrochanteric region of the right femur consistent with a pathologic fracture, destruction in the right ileum, and photopenic defects in some of the vertebrae and sacrum as a result of bone involvement. TI-201 scintigraphy revealed increased tracer uptake in the tumoral mass in the right ileum, sacrum, T9 vertebra, and right upper thorax. TI-201 uptake has been reported in a wide range of benign and malignant tumors, but accumulation in hemangiopericytoma has not been reported.
