Abstract

In this study, wave propagation in embedded nanotubes conveying fluid is studied. Tubes are formulated as a functionally graded beam in which material properties are changing in the thickness direction. Dispersion relations are obtained for different material properties, elastic medium stiffness and flow velocities. The effect of flow directions is also investigated. Obtained results can be used in the modeling of nano electromechanical systems.
