705 cases, who were hospitalized at Trakya University Medical Faculty Neurosurgery Department during the last 5 years with the diagnosis of head injuries, were investigated in terms of epidemiological features. 79.1% of the cases were male, 22.7% of the wounded were between ages 20-30 and the traffic accidents involved 54.5% of the trauma etiology. It was determined that the ratio of having operation because of the trauma was 15% (104 cases) and the mortality ratio of these cases was 32.7%. The mortality ratio of the all cases was 13.6%. In the evaluation of the cases according to the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score, 72.4% of the cases were diagnosed as minor head injuries.
