Aortic transection may occur following major blunt chest traumas. The approach to patients with such an injury is controversial. Delayed operation attempt with blood pressure control and serial radiological monitoring are reliable and suggested options. Here, we present a 25 yearsold male patient with acute blunt traumatic aortic transection in the isthmic portion of the aorta. Proximal segment of thoracic aorta was repaired by endovascular stenting. Although, endovascular stenting offers a minimally invasive method of treatment but the long-term endurance of the endovascular stent is still unknown. We think that the greater applicability of the endovascular repair of the thoracic aortic transection is an advantage over the open surgery.
