Özet
Arthritic process, inflammation of the joints, might show distinct signs of the inflammation; such as pain, edema, redness and fever in different stages of the disease. The general nature of these signs may be a handicap for differential diagnosis. In approach to arthritic patients; a skeptical inspection and history taking are the main strains. The second step is a detailed physical and locomotor examination. The third step is building of the differential diagnosis based on physical findings, and the results of laboratory and imaging tests. The tests should be planned in a simple to complex manner in consideration of sensitivity/specifity and cost effectivity. The most important point to remember is that the results of the tests provide only supportive evidences, and they don't represent the diagnosis themselves.
