Özet

Modern cryptography is very important issue for providing security and privacy for e-commerce, which is conducted electronically. In addition to that, it is very important where personal information is stored on computers and transmitted over computer networks. On the other hand, cryptography has a tremendous potential to enrich mathematics education and some encryption algorithms used in cryptography have basic mathematical concepts. Some have complex mathematical concepts. This paper describes mathematical concepts using cryptography to make students more enthusiastic about mathematics, computer science and electronics where security is involved. After that, right choices are very important for students who are studying for these departments. This paper also discusses developing enthusiasm for CE (Computer Engineering) and EE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) departments and cryptography in view of Turkey. © 2004 IEEE.
