Bu çalışmanın amacı Rotterdam Duygusal Zekâ Ölçeği’nin kısa versiyonu oluşturmak ve psikometrik değerlerini normal ve üstün yetenekli çocuklar üzerinde incelemektir. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını Türkiye’de farklı illerde normal gelişim gösteren (normal zekâya sahip) 411 çocuk ve ergen ile BİLSEM’lere devam eden 130 ve üzeri IQ puanı almış akademik olarak üstün yetenekli tanılı 386 çocuk ve ergenler oluşturmaktır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Rotterdam Duygusal Zekâ Ölçeği, Olumlu ve Olumsuz Mükemmeliyetçilik Ölçeği ve Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Rotterdam Duygusal Zekâ Ölçeği-Kısa Formu’nun normal çocuklarda uyum iyiliği değerlerinin χ2= 103.14 sd=48, CMIN/sd= 2.15, SRMR=.055, RMSEA=.053, AGFI=.94, CFI=96, GFI=96, IFI=96, TLI=.94, olduğu gözlenmiştir. Aynı formun üstün yetenekli öğrencilerdeki uyum iyiliği değerleri χ2= 136.934, sd=93, CMIN/sd= 2.85, SRMR=.050, RMSEA=.069, AGFI=.91 CFI=95, GFI=94, IFI=95, TLI=.93 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Ölçeğin iç tutarlılık Cronbach alfa ve McDonald Omega güvenirlik değerleri ölçeğin bütünü için α=.84, ω=.84 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Ortaya çıkan psikometrik değerler alanyazındaki ölçütler ile tartışılmıştır. Bu değerlere dayanılarak RDZÖ-KF hem normal hem de üstün yetenekli çocuk ve ergen popülasyonunda duygusal zekâyı değerlendirmek için kullanılabilir.
This study's objective is to create a condensed form of the Rotterdam Emotional Intelligence Scale and to assess its psychometric qualities in both gifted and typical children. The participants of the study are 411 normally developing (normal intelligence) children and adolescents from different provinces in Türkiye and 386 gifted children and adolescents with an IQ score of 130 and above who are attending SACs. Rotterdam Emotional Intelligence Scale, Positive and Negative Perfectionism Scales and Life Satisfaction Scale were used as data collection tools. It was observed that the goodness of fit values of the Rotterdam Emotional Intelligence Scale-Short Form in normal children were χ2= 103.14 df=48, CMIN/df= 2.15, SRMR=.055, RMSEA=.053, AGFI=.94, CFI=96, GFI=96, IFI=96, TLI=.94. The goodness of fit values of the same form in gifted students were determined as χ2= 136.934, df=93, CMIN/df= 2.85, SRMR=.050, RMSEA=.069, AGFI=.91 CFI=95, GFI=94, IFI=95, TLI=.93. The internal consistency Cronbach’s alpha and McDonald Omega reliability values of the scale were calculated as α=.84, ω=.84 for the whole scale. The resulting psychometric values were discussed with the criteria in the literature. On the basis of these values, the REIS-SF can be used to assess emotional intelligence in both normal and gifted children and adolescents.
