Orofacial myofunctional dysfunction is a multifaceted condition that necessitates a thorough assessment of the patient and a coordinated, multidisciplinary treatment plan. Such disorders can result in a variety of health complications, potentially involving several organ systems, and may also lead to stomatognathic anomalies that disrupt speech, mastication, swallowing, breathing, and affect facial appearance and posture. It sought to identify the most commonly administered tests aiming at establishing the existence of tests for orofacial myofunctional dysfunction and reviewing studies conducted regarding the validity of the most commonly administered tests. It also gives a general synthesis of literature in the standard setting for the diagnosis procedure for the orofacial myofunctional dysfunction.
